As Madonna's messy custody battle over her 15-year-old son Rocco Ritchie continues, the singer has opened up to her fans about the unfortunate disagreement.
During her concert in New Zealand on Friday, March 4, the 57-year-old star dedicated her performance of “La Vie en Rose” to the teen. “That is my son, who I mentioned earlier,” Madonna told the audience. “He is actually 15, and it’s true, there is no love stronger than a mother for her son.”
“If I talk about him too much, I might cry,” she tearfully continued. “I would like to dedicate this song to him. It’s a love song for a man, but I know he’ll be one, one day. I hope he hears this somewhere and knows how much I miss him.”
Reports first surfaced that Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie, 47, are involved in a messy custody disagreement over their son in December 2015. Their dispute is allegedly ongoing.
"Madonna and Rocco have been talking. They are trying to mediate themselves," a source recently revealed to Us Weekly. "Rocco has been the one reaching out to Madonna. She and Guy are not on speaking terms.”

The former couple were previously married from 2000 until 2008. They welcomed Rocco in 2000 and adopted their son David, 10, in 2005. Madonna is also a mom to a 19-year-old daughter Lourdes from a previous relationship and to a daughter, Mercy, 10, whom she adopted as a single parent in 2006. Guy additionally has three kids — Rafael, 4, Rivka, 3, and Levi, 1 — with his wife, Jacqui Ainsley, 34.
