In honor of their son Joaquin Consuelos’ 16th birthday, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos took to Instagram this week to share some sweet messages for their youngest child. For the special occasion, the Live! With Kelly and Ryan host shared a series of pictures to social media of both Joaquin as a toddler and a teenager.

“And then the newborn turned 16,” the 48-year-old gushed in the caption of her photo collage. “Happy birthday Joaquin! You are the gift that keeps on giving. We all love you more than words can say.” Keeping it more short and sweet, the Riverdale star echoed what his wife said in her post to their growing son. “Happy Birthday baller … We love you,” Mark, 47, wrote. Take a look at their sweet posts below and make sure to scroll right through Kelly’s to see all the photos!

Kelly and Mark are also the parents of Joaquin’s two older siblings, Michael, 21, and Lola, 17. Even though she has a wicked sense of humor and isn’t afraid to tease her kids every now and then, Kelly is one of the proudest moms around. Besides gushing about them during her show with Ryan Seacrest, Kelly is always posting about her brood and constantly raving about their successes.

While recently talking about her kids to cohost Ryan, the former All My Children star opened up about why she and Mark stopped having kids after Joaquin. “I am regretful that we didn’t have more,” she admitted. “There is [sic] many different reasons. First of all, triangulation in the family dynamic. You always have … when they’re small, not when they’re older … when they are small you always have two against one. It is just the way it is, it’s unavoidable. But I also just loved having them.”

And just like every parent, she’s allowing her kids to spread their wings while hoping that they don’t travel too far from home. “I adore them as the grown-ups that they’ve become, I will say my kids are kind people and they’re good people and I’m proud of them for that,” she explained. “But when they are tiny, they are just so adorable. And they say amazing things, and I miss all of that.” Luckily for Kelly and Mark, Joaquin is still young enough to need his parents for a few more years!
