Now that we’re just weeks away from Kate Middleton and Prince William welcoming their royal twins, bets on what the babies’ names will be are at an all-time high. Though Princess Alice was a previous top contender for one of the baby girls, Now to Love is now reporting that Princess Mary is currently the highest pick with the odds at 7-1.

According to the news outlet, “Mary would make for a classic choice and suit perfectly with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The moniker is also one of The Queen’s middle names and throughout history, there have been two Queen Marys to take to the British throne.” Alice and Victoria continue to also top the list of possible royal baby names for girls.

Life & Style recently revealed that Kate, 36, and William, 35, are expecting twin girls in April and the couple wants to name one of their newborn daughters after Princess Diana. “They don’t plan to coordinate the girls’ names to rhyme or start with the same letter,” a source revealed. “They both like Victoria, Alice, Olivia, Alexandra, and Elizabeth.” Scroll down to see even more royal baby name predictions, for both boys and girls!

Favorite girl names

If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Will and Kate will most definitely opt for a classic choice, drenched in history. Their firstborn son’s full name is Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, a nod to the Kings that came before him. While their daughter is Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, in honor of Queen Elizabeth and her late grandmother Princess Diana.

Favorite names for a girl include Alice and Victoria — both regal-sounding names with long-standing royal ties. Alice was also a front-runner during the countdown to Princess Charlotte’s birth in 2015. It was the name of one of Queen Victoria’s daughter and Prince Philip’s mother. Mary and Alexandra are also popular choices. In light of the 20-year anniversary of her death, Sportsbet has also predicted another Princess Diana could be joining the history books. In addition, other names in the running could be Grace, Elizabeth, Frances, Caroline, and Catherine/Kate.

Favorite boy names

Can you imagine a Prince Henry of Cambridge? What about Prince Arthur? Both names are topping the betting charts, but given Prince Harry’s full title is actually Prince Henry of Wales, Will and Kate might be keen to mix it up. Considering Prince Philip’s recent retirement, it could be a touching tribute to the great-grandfather to name their third child after him. In addition to Henry and Arthur, other names in the running could be Frederick, Albert, Philip, James, Alexander, William, Edward, and Andrew. We can’t wait for the new royal babies to arrive!
