Hugh Jackman Reveals He “Clicked Right Away” With Wife Deborra-Lee Furness (EXCLUSIVE)
What a sweet husband! During a recent exclusive interview, Hugh Jackman opened up to Closer Weekly about how he and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, clicked right away when they first met — and revealed what he thinks sealed the deal on their relationship.
"I think she probably first fell in love with me when I sang 'You and I' from the musical Chess," Hugh, 49, told Closer of the song that continues to be a fun shared memory for the longtime couple. "Deb will still ask me to sing it for her at home, although she’s usually a bit tipsy."
He and Deborra-Lee, 62, first bonded while starring together on the 1995 Australian TV miniseries Correlli. "There was something that clicked between us right away," the Logan actor — who wasn’t even looking to settle down at the time — told Closer. "It was the feeling you get when you sense this connection that tells you this is the kind of woman you want in your life."
In 2017, he admitted to People why their relationship works. "One of the great pieces of fortune in my career, it started late, but that Deb and I were already set together, a team, madly in love, like literally before it all happened. We can kind of see all the ups and downs for what they are. Our priority is our family, and we’re there for each other no matter what," he gushed.
