Both Joan Lunden and Charlie Gibson were forced out for getting "too old."
When Joan retired from the show in 1997 she said she was leaving to focus on family, but years later she revealed on Oprah that she was actually forced out. "The words are, 'We've decided to make a change on the show,' and so they found a 30-year-old version of me," Joan said. "It was Charlie and me. They replaced both of us with kind of, you know, a 30-year-old version of each of us, and it didn't work."

Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer used to color coordinate their outfits.
Wardrobe supervisor Evelyn Mason revealed back in 2006 that the two anchors match their outfits and even swap accessories. "I steam whatever Robin's wearing, and I'll take it to Diane so she can see the color. She'll either attach herself to the color or stay away from it. She'll take one look, and that's it."

Most GMA co-hosts have to wake up as early as 2 or 3 a.m.! "You know what," he said back in 2016, "I don't know if you ever adjust to getting up, waking up so early—I don't know if that's possible, but I enjoy going in there."

David Hartman and Joan Lunden did not get along.
When Joan joined the show in 1980, the crew revealed later after he left that David didn't enjoy sharing the limelight. "They weren’t getting along," a source revealed to People back in 1986. "On-camera, they’d be chatty and friendly. But between takes there would be this icy silence, more from David than Joan.”

Robin Roberts does a daily ritual before going on the air.
The 57-year-old blows two kisses before heading to the set every morning as an homage to her two deceased parents. It's such a strict ritual that one day when she forgot, the crew made her go back and reenter again so that she had another chance to blow the two kisses.

Ginger Zee and Robin are very close off camera.
Back in 2015, the meteorologist gushed about Robin and called her "the sister that you always wanted."
"People don't even realize her inner power and her inner strength. Who she's been to me and to most of our team is more than you can get out of the camera," she said. "If I have a problem, I go straight to her. I think my mom's getting jealous."
