Emmy-winning actor James Brolin is opening up about his career and rumors of a return to TV in an exclusive interview with Closer.

“I’m actually going to shop a modern-day 'Little House on the Prairie,'” James says in the new issue. “I wouldn’t have a major role in it, but I’d go to [son Josh’s ex-wife] Diane Lane and ask if she wanted to do a series. It’s about a woman and her kids moving from New York to Montana and being fish out of water.”

Though he reveals his plans for the new series, James admits he’s not sure a return to TV full time can happen for him. "It would also have to shoot locally,” the actor, who has been married to superstar Barbra Streisand for 15 years, tells Closer. "I was just offered a role on 'Revolution,' but I would’ve had to go to Austin (Texas), and that is tough on a marriage and tough on a life at this point.”
