Calling all Dirty Dancing fans!
The ABC remake of the hit 1987 film is premiering tonight — and we can’t wait to watch the new TV movie!
Of course, the original famously starred Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze as Frances “Baby” Houseman and Johnny Castle, respectively. This time around, 21-year-old Abigail Breslin and newcomer Colt Prattes, 30, will play the Kellerman Resort couple.
Baby’s parents, Marjorie and Dr. Jake Houseman, were first played by Kelly Bishop and the late Jerry Orbach. Today, the roles have been taken over by Will & Grace star Debra Messing and Bruce Greenwood.
Baby’s sister, Lisa Houseman, was originally portrayed by Jane Brucker — who retired from acting several years after Dirty Dancing — and today, the role is being played by Modern Family star Sarah Hyland.

Lastly, supporting character Penny Johnson is now being portrayed by former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger. The part was originated by Cynthia Rhodes.
Though the plot of the new Dirty Dancing stays pretty close to the original, the remake tells fans much more about Dr. and Mrs. Houseman’s relationship and we get to see Johnny and Baby after their summer at Kellerman Resort — so cool!
Don’t forget to tune into the Dirty Dancing remake tonight, May 24th, at 8 p.m. on ABC!
