Cybill Shepherd Affairs — From Peter Bogdanovich to Bruce Willis

Although Cybill Shepherd is noted for her long career, which has spanned decades, the 67-year-old actress is also known for the things she does off camera — particularly her many affairs. Back in 2000, the candid star of such memorable shows as Moonlighting and Cybill, wrote a tell-all memoir that confessed to the many men she's been linked to in Hollywood, from Elvis Presley to Bruce Willis. Considering most stars are a little less loose-lipped about such matters, Cybill's frankness is something we don't normally see — but there's a reason for her honesty.

"I just don't like to lie about sex," she said on Larry King Live in 2000. "I started out — the only way to survive as a sexual being, growing up in the time I did and the place I did, was to lie about sex… With the birth of my first child and my involvement with my first husband, I basically stopped lying. I just didn't want to lie anymore, because it reduces the stature of the person you're lying to."

Bruce Willis

Although the Moonlighting co-stars had a highly publicized feud on set, they apparently had enough chemistry to have a quick fling off camera. Back in 2000, Cybill admitted that the tension became so strong, she eventually turned to Bruce one day and said, "Are we going to do something about this or what?" Bruce later visited her house with a bottle of wine, but after a heated makeout session, they both decided to not take things further because of their careers. "Maybe Bruce likes the chase better than the catch," she wrote in her book. "We never did finish what we'd started in private, but any time we had a kissing scene, he stuck a big camel tongue halfway down my throat."

Jeff Bridges

While working on her first film, The Last Picture Show, Cybill had many affairs on set, and Jeff, her co-star, just happened to be one of them. She revealed the two of them would "keep company after hours." However, in 2008, she admitted that on-set hookups were a bit risky. "It's not a good idea to date your leading men, but sometimes it's hard not to," Cybill said in 2008. "I got that out of the way with my first film."

Elvis Presley

The two had a brief affair in 1972, which Cybill has been very candid about in both interviews and her memoir, Cybil Disobedience. "Elvis Presley, as a lover, was … indescribable," she said. "It was 1972, and all the guys wore cheap cologne, apart from him. He smelled soapy, and sweet, like sugar and sweat. I felt a lot for him." She said she left him after he tried to get her to use drugs with him.

Don Johnson

While shooting the TV movie The Long Hot Summer, Cybill fell once again for her co-star, which she said she had an "intense attraction" to. "We lasted a nanosecond on the porch and rapidly progressed to my bed," she revealed in her memoir. "It was like wolfing down a candy bar when you're starving–fast, furious and intense and it was all over in five minutes."

Peter Bogdanovich

The director discovered Cybill and cast her in her first film, The Last Picture Show. Although Peter was married at the time, and although Cybill was dating co-star Jeff Bridges, the two later carried on an affair that would last several years. "Cybill…had an affair with Jeff on the picture," Peter revealed in 2017. "Then he left town to do a week of his military service and by the time he got back she was with me, which was really not an easy situation."
