What’s the rush? That’s the motto Anne Heche, 48, and James Tupper, 52, live by. Even though the two have been boyfriend and girlfriend for a decade, they have no plans to run to the altar anytime soon!

“Eternally engaged is fantastic,” Anne said. “Every year I get a new ring, and I am not kidding.” James quipped to Closer Weekly in an exclusive interview about the arrangement. “I feel pressure to get re-engaged,” he confessed.

Apparently, the arrangement works out pretty well though. “We discovered we see the world in a similar way,” James shared of Anne, whom he moved in with back in 2007. The pair is also parents to an eight-year-old son, Atlas, who was born in March 2009.

Anne reportedly left her ex-husband, Coleman Laffoon, to be with the Big Little Lies actor back in 2007 (they were married from 2001 until their divorce finalized in 2009). Anne and Coleman share a son Homer, 15. The former Another World star also famously dated talk show host Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 until 2000.

Turns out, James was married once before too, which has supported Anne’s decision not to get married even more. “I have quite a collection [of rings],” she once told The New York Times of her probably 10-ring stash. “Besides, I’ve been married before and so has he. I don’t know what either of us would gain or what would change that would benefit us.” But, Anne isn’t totally ruling out the idea that the longtime pair will tie the knot someday in the future. Anne joked about when it’d happen: “When I’m 60, I’m happy to walk down the aisle!”
