Over the Thanksgiving holiday we heard some heartbreaking news about 7th Heaven star Beverley Mitchell. Beverley revealed on her “Growing Up Hollywood” blog that she miscarried twins earlier in the year just a few weeks after learning she and her husband Michael Cameron were expecting. And while this was quite the tragic moment for Beverley and her family, she has Jessica Biel to thank for offering her support.

Beverley and Jessica played sisters on 7th Heaven from 1996 until 2006, but have remained very close over the years, with Beverley even attending Jessica’s wedding to Justin Timberlake in 2012. Beverley had nothing but kind words to say about her former costar and current friend. “[Jessica] was very supportive through everything and was always checking in on me and through the whole miscarriage thing,” Beverley told Us Weekly. “She was one of the first people I called and I’m just very grateful for her friendship and her being just a frickin’ badass, awesome person.”

While Beverley and Jessica’s careers have gone in two completely different routes, it is great to hear that both women had stayed in touch, and more importantly, have showed up for each other through tough times.

In the blog post late last month, Beverley said, “Our new dream of growing our family came crashing down; we had a miscarriage. This was a shock. Honestly, my first instinct was to say I was fine, and to be honest; I was trying to be. I thought I had to be, for my family, for myself. I had to jump on a plane and go to work being surrounded by babies and kids while I was still miscarrying. That was interesting.”

Beverley and Michael do have two children: a daughter Kenzie who was born in 2013, as well as a son named Hutton who was born in 2015.
