Today co-host Savannah Guthrie announced on the morning program she is launching a pregnancy blog on Today.com to share her thoughts on becoming a first-time mother and to post updates on how she's doing.
"Welcome! We are giving birth today, to a brand new, bouncing baby blog," the journalist, who is 5 months pregnant, writes in her first entry for "Savannah's Maternity Musings."
"We thought it would be fun to have a place to gather to muse about pregnancy — and all its assorted joys, fears and weirdness — and I figured I could canvass all you smarties for pregnancy and parenting advice!" she continued.
Savannah, who married husband Michael Feldman last month, admits she wasn't sure she'd have the opportunity to become a parent.
“I’m 42 years old, and I honestly didn’t know if I’d ever get this chance," she writes. "I’ve never been more thankful, or felt more blessed from above. I know how lucky I am."
She adds, "For a long time, I think I was afraid to even let myself think about how much I hoped to one day have a baby.”
