‘Revenge of the Nerds’ Premiered in Theaters 35 Years Ago! Where Is the Cast Now?

Can you believe it’s been 35 years since Revenge of the Nerds hit the big screen and had us laughing out loud? Time has certainly flown by and it’s time to catch up with the cast to see where they are now.

The comedy — which premiered on July 20, 1984 — was directed by Jeff Kanew and was about a group of, well, nerds at Adams College. They are constantly bullied and are considered outcasts but they’ve had enough and decide to fight back against the jock fraternity, the Alpha Betas. It was a story about standing up for yourself and self-respect.

Along with ER‘s Anthony Edwards, the cast featured the likes of Robert Carradine, Timothy Busfield, Andrew Cassese, Curtis Armstrong and Larry B. Scott as the titular nerds. Playing the fratty athletes were Donald Gibb, Ted McGinley and Matt Salinger — with John Goodman as the coach.

The film earned nearly $41 million domestically, according to Box Office Mojo, and spawned off a sequel on the big screen, Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987), as well as two TV movies, Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation (1992) and Revenge of the Nerds IV: Nerds in Love (1994). A remake of the original was planned but never materialized.
