Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Daughter Zahara: See Her Grown Up Through the Years in Photos
After Angelina Jolie adopted her first child, Maddox-Jolie Pitt, the actress soon decided to expand her family again by adopting a little girl named Zahara Marley back in 2005.
The Oscar winner adopted her daughter Zahara when she was just 6 months old from an orphanage in Addis Adaba, Ethiopia. At the time, Angelina traveled to Ethiopia with her then-boyfriend, Brad Pitt, and upon learning of the actor’s desire to adopt as well, the Girl, Interrupted actress filed a petition change her two kids’ names legally from Jolie to Jolie-Pitt and Brad adopted Maddox and Zahara.
She quickly became a big sister when Angelina gave birth to the couple’s first biological child, daughter Shiloh, in 2006. Brad and Angie adopted son Pax at the age of 3 from a Vietnamese orphanage in 2007 and rounded out their family with the birth of twins Knox and Vivienne in 2008. The couple eventually married in 2014, but Angelina filed for divorce a little more than two years later in September 2016.
Angelina admires the young woman Zahara has grown into. “I have learned so much from her,” the Wanted star gushed during a July 2020 Time 100 Talk. “She is my family, but she is an extraordinary African woman and her connection to her country, her continent, is her own, and it’s something I only stand back in awe of.”
Zahara’s laugh is Angelina’s favorite sound in the world. The actress confided to Hello magazine in 2017, “She is one of those people who laughs with her whole body. Completely open and full of joy.”
The teenager has grown into quote a stunning young lady. She loves fashion and is a total style star. Even when she goes out with her siblings, Zahara always makes sure she’s dressed a level above her casual clothes-loving siblings, especially when she hits the red carpet at her mom’s film premieres.

While the rest of her siblings will go with neat yet casual pants and jackets, leave it to Zahara to go glam. At the Tokyo premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, she wore a sparkling black dress with a lace skirt. At the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Zahara twinned with her mom in matching strapless black evening gowns. Z can always be counted on to stand out among her five siblings no matter where the family goes!
