Will Smith sang it best: Parents just don’t understand…and now he’s one of ’em!

The actor, who has two children — son Jaden, 16, and daughter Willow, 14 — with wife Jada Pinkett Smith, recently appeared on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ and admitted parenting isn’t always easy.

“We have teenagers in the house, so it’s very difficult. Ninety per cent of the focus is Willow — a 14-year-old girl takes all of the attention. It’s everything; it’s like the world ends three times a week. It’s like 14-year-old girl independence day at my house every week,” the ‘Focus’ star, 46, told the host.

“So she has these cats and she loves these cats and we live out in the boonies so I accidentally left one of the door’s open and she can’t find the cat,” he began the anecdote.

“She’s very upset and she looked at me and tears welled up in her eyes and she said, ‘I cannot believe you would be that irresponsible.’ There’s nothing that destroys the heart of a middle-aged man like the disdainful sneer of a 14-year-old girl,” Will continued during the Wednesday, Feb. 18 interview.

Thankfully, the family’s pet was safe and sound in their home the entire time!

“I called Jada to figure out what to do and Willow walked up and I was on the phone and that was too much for her. [She said], ‘The least you could do was look.’ We found the cat — the cat was in the house,” he said.
