Don’t fret — Will Smith isn’t actually running for president in 2016!

On a recent episode of CBS Sunday Morning, the 47-year-old Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star made some shocking statements that left his fans wondering if Will is really running for office!

“If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena,” he said on the program. “I mean, I gotta be the president. What else would I run for? Come on!”

However, at the premiere for his new film Concussion on Wednesday, Dec. 16, Will confirmed he isn’t actually looking to take on a political role anytime soon. “I was really kind of joking when I said that,” he admitted to ET at the event.

The actor even revealed that his portrayal of Nigerian doctor Bennet Omalu in the upcoming film — which focuses on the issue of brain trauma in the NFL — has played a big part in his political optimism.

“Dr. Omalu has such a positive view of America and the American dream,” he continued. “As an actor, being able to be a part of that and to feel from the outsider’s perspective how great this country is, I sort of got inspired as I was looking at the current political landscape. I was inspired to defend the ideals that help build such a beautiful country.”
