Dinner and a movie was just too simple compared to what Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor Will Smith had planned for his 50th birthday on Tuesday, Sept. 25. The father-of-three instead opted for a more exciting celebration and decided to bungee jump 550 feet from a helicopter over the Grand Canyon and, lucky for us, he documented the entire stunt on his YouTube channel.

In the video, Will can be seen mentally preparing himself in the helicopter before he jumped over the canyon. Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, his sons, Trey and Jaden, and daughter Willow all came to support the fearless star and were seen cheering him on in the awesome video.

Jaden even jokingly said that his father only has one big fear and that’s “having a fear.” But once Will jumped out of the helicopter, he showed his family and fans that you should let nothing hold you back in life, including fear itself.

Since Will performed the stunt from of a dare by Yes Theory, he also raised a lot of money for a charity called Education Cannot Wait that aims to give kids a better education in crisis-affected areas.

The doting dad prepared for the stunt by promoting the event on his Instagram page. He first shared a photo of the “Evel Knievel” helmet that he would wear and wrote, “I think I have chosen my Helmet… And My Face for the Jump! It’s going down tomorrow 9/25 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET on @YouTube! #willsmiththejump.”

When the actor was on his way to the canyon before the jump, he also shared a video of a few tests that his team conducted to make sure that he would be safe. But his best birthday pic was the one that he shared of himself and his family shortly before the intense stunt. “My Squad holding me down for my big 5-0,” Will wrote in the caption. We can’t wait to see what he does for his 51st birthday!
