With 21 hosts over its 21 seasons, The View is less a talk show than it is a revolving door! And sometimes, we never know why hosts leave ABC’s long-running daytime series. For example, why did Jedediah Bila leave The View? That’s a mystery, but one theory involves Hillary Clinton. Jedediah, a self-identified libertarian, joined The View in September 2016 as one of Season 20’s new stars. A year later, however, she was out.

“So, this is my last day at The View, and I want to thank these ladies,” she told the audience in September 2017, referring to co-stars Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Sara Haines. “What you don’t know about us, these ladies, we’re friends. Sunny’s texts, Sara, Whoopi, you’re my inspiration. Joy, when I need comedic relief, this is where I go. So we’re going to be friends no matter what.”

In a memo to the show’s staff, per ABC News, executive producers of the show praised Jedediah as a “spirited voice at the table” and said she “will always be a part of The View family” and they would “continue to welcome her back to talk about her new projects.” (From the looks of her Instagram account, Jedediah has spent the intervening months prepping for her wedding to Jeremy Scher and writing a book.)

But her exit may not have been that amicable. A source told Page Six that Jedediah left The View “on her own accord” following a contentious interview with Hillary Clinton about the latter’s book What Happened. “There was a lot of staff who were upset about how that interview was handled,” the source said. “They had a lot to say to Jedediah about calming things down.”

Additionally, this source seemed to imply that the 38-year-old felt alienated by her colleagues, saying, “There were some things making her uncomfortable behind the scenes, but she loves the cast. She seems to be looking forward to sharing her view in a world where there seems to be only one worldview.” Well, we fully expect to hear Jedediah’s side of the story in her forthcoming book. But we’ll be hearing wedding bells first!
