Bradley Cooper's Kids: Meet Daughter Lea With Ex Irina Shayk

His one and only! Bradley Cooper has been madly in love with his daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, since he welcomed her into his life with his ex-girlfriend, Irina Shayk, in 2017. Although the former pair isn’t together anymore, they’ve done everything they can to be great coparents to Lea.

“They both want to keep it civil for [her] sake,” Us Weekly reported in June 2019. “They’ll coordinate to make sure their daughter is always with one parent. When Lea has important events in her life, both Bradley and Irina will be there.”

Bradley and Irina broke up after four years of dating in June 2019. Although they agreed on “joint custody” of their daughter, they tried to “avoid each other at all costs,” a source told In Touch Weekly in November 2019.

Fortunately, things have gotten a little easier for Bradley and Irina as time has passed, even amid speculation that the model has been dating rapper Kanye West. “There have been no arguments about Lea’s schedule,” an insider told Us Weekly in February 2021. “Bradley usually is busier and has back-to-back films lined up, but he makes sure he spends a lot of time with Lea.”

Since their separation, Bradley and Irina have shared “a balanced schedule with their daughter,” the source noted. In August 2019, the Mule actor took Lea to Disneyland without his ex. The model also made her first red carpet appearance with her dad in October 2019 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

However, the exes had to slow down on their outings once the coronavirus pandemic hit Los Angeles early last year. “I’m with my daughter and my mother and my two dogs, and we have not left the house,” the A Star Is Born actor told People in September 2020. “My mother is going to be 80 and she has a colostomy bag, so I can’t let anybody in the house. And I can’t leave the house, because if she gets it, it’s over.”

But just because Bradley and Lea were cooped up at home, that doesn’t mean there was a shortage of fun. “We get up, we do swim class in the bathtub,” he said about homeschooling. Still, doing it all on his own made the actor feel like he was running “a one-man preschool.”

Despite the everyday challenges, Bradley revealed the one thing he wants Lea to take away from his parenting. “I just always want her to feel loved … that’s the thing I want my daughter to have,” he said on NPR’s “Morning Edition” in September 2018, adding that he’s also learned a few things from Lea too.

“I guess having a child, and having a family of my own — which is a miracle and something I’ve always dreamt of — has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present,” he gushed.

Bradley’s little one was born on March 21, 2017. Since her arrival, Lea has made quite an impact on her famous father. Though the Hangover actor is private in terms of his life at home, he revealed his daughter’s blonde hair and blue eyes remind him of his late dad, Charles J. Cooper.

“Our daughter, she’s incredible. And I see my father in her quite often,” he shared during a TV appearance in 2019, according to People. “I can’t believe I’m gonna admit this, but I had moments when … I was in the room with [Lea], I would say, ‘Dad?’ There are some moments where she looks just like my father.”

In addition to raising his little girl, Bradley has had to adjust his life as a single dad and coparent. Though the actor and the gorgeous model keep a tight lip about the status of their relationship, Irina opened up about coparenting during a rare interview with Elle in March 2021.

“I never understood the term coparenting,” she said to the outlet. “When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100 percent a mother, and when she’s with her dad, he’s 100 percent her dad. Coparenting is parenting.” The Sports Illustrated model even credited the Hollywood hunk for being “the most amazing dad.”
