Richard Gere’s 3 Kids Give Him Unconditional Love! Get to Know the ‘Pretty Woman’ Star’s Family

Actor Richard Gere experienced unconditional love when he welcomed his three kids into his life. They taught him how to be a great person and an even better father.

In February 2000, the Primal Fear star welcomed his first child, son Homer, with his second ex-wife, Carey Lowell. After 14 years of marriage, the pair got divorced in 2016 and agreed on joint custody of their son. Once their marriage was over, Richard tied the knot with Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva in April 2018, and she quickly became the mother of his two youngest kids.

“I’m the happiest man in the universe. How could I not be?” the Pretty Woman star gushed to Hola! shortly after they walked down the aisle. “I’m married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who is fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who is a great cook — and who makes the best salads in the world!”

The pair were meant to be. Alexandra loved the fact that Richard was a “humanitarian” and a “very empathetic” person. “Our karma was attracted the moment we saw each other,” the brunette beauty, who is 34 years younger than him, told Hola! “I’m not ignoring our age difference and what it means to be with a Hollywood star, but when there’s such a strong karmic energy, the problems disappear.”

In February 2019, Alexandra and her hubby took their relationship to the next level when they welcomed their son Alexander. Then, their family got a little bigger when Alexandra gave birth to their second son at their NY state ranch in April 2020. However, the couple has yet to share any details regarding their little bundle of joy, including his name.

As a dad of three, Richard credits his own father, Homer Gere, for helping him be the most compassionate parent to his kids. “If he didn’t have money, it was a smile or an embrace or whatever he had to help out, and that was around me the whole time I was growing up,” the actor said at the 2019 City Harvest Festival Gala.

Alejandra also has one son, Albert, from her first marriage to Govind Friedland. The pair were married from 2012 to 2015. The activist has kept her eldest son out of the spotlight for most of his life and off of social media. However, she did share a photo holding Alexander and the couple’s third child in December 2021. The children’s faces are not shown in the photo snapped during a day at the zoo.
