Who Are Jamie Foxx's Siblings? Meet His Sisters Deidra and DeOndra

If there’s one thing Jamie Foxx cares about the most, it’s his family. Along with being a proud dad to his two kids, Corinne Foxx and Annalise Bishop, the iconic Ray actor is also a loving brother to his sisters, Deidra Dixon and late sibling DeOndra Dixon.

In late October, Jamie shared the tragic news that his beloved little sister DeOndra died at age 36. The Django Unchained star said his “heart is shattered into a million pieces” while announcing his sister’s death in an emotional post on Instagram.

“My beautiful loving sister DeOndra has transitioned … I say transitioned because she will always be alive,” he wrote alongside various photos with DeOndra from over the years. “Anyone who knew my sis … knew that she was a bright light.”

In his tribute, Jamie recalled all the times he hosted “parties at the house” where DeOndra, who was born with Down syndrome, “[stole] the show” with her moves on the dance floor. “I know she is in heaven now dancing with her wings on,” he gushed.

Although the pain Jamie feels is “unbelievable,” he takes solace in thinking of “all of the great memories” he made with DeOndra. “From dancing in the ‘Blame It’ video … to Dancing [at] the Grammys … from sliding down my stairs with a grin as wide as the Rio Grande … to serenading us with all of her music.”

The Academy Award winner said despite having a “hole in [his] heart” following DeOndra’s passing, he will “fill it with all of the memories” that they shared together. “I love you with every ounce of me … our family is shattered, but we will put the pieces back together with your love.”

Prior to her death, DeOndra was named an Ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation in 2011. At the time, the Jamie Foxx Show alum praised his little sister for being an inspiration to so many.

“She’s a superstar now,” he shared with People in November 2011. “One thing people may not understand is that the love a person with special needs gives you is unfiltered. There is nothing in the way of them loving you and there is nothing in the way of them being upset with you either. You really get the true individual.”

Jamie surely feels lucky to have had DeOndra in his life.

DeOndra Dixon

There’s no doubt Jamie adored his sister DeOndra. While chatting about his relationship with his sibling during an appearance on The Queen Latifah Show in November 2014, Jamie gushed about DeOndra and said she can make any bad day a great one. In fact, when he was shooting the music video for his hit record “Blame It On The Alcohol,” Jamie said DeOndra wasn’t afraid to put her fabulous dance moves on full display.

“We’re shooting, so it’s getting late and she’s like ‘Big bro, don’t forget about me, ’cause I wanna do my thing.’ And I looked down and what was interesting was she had a lil’ purse … and there was some hair sticking out the purse. I said, ‘What’s that?’ She said, ‘Oh that’s my ponytail, I’ma put that in when it’s time to get down,'” he jokingly recalled. “I said ‘Girl, go put your ponytail in!'”

DeOndra showed an interest in performing ever since she was a little girl. After participating in the Special Olympics for nearly a decade when she was younger, she moved to California with Jamie and his family. In her biography on the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s website, DeOndra credited her brother for giving her the opportunity to live out her dream of being “born to dance.”

“My brother has given me a chance to do some special things,” DeOndra wrote. “I danced in his video ‘Blame It.’ I’ve danced on stage at some of his concerts all over the country. And guess what? I’ve danced at the Grammys!”

Deidra Dixon

Deidra is Jamie’s other younger sister. Like the beloved comedian, Deidra also works in Hollywood. However, she is a makeup artist rather than an actress.

According to IMDb, she’s worked as a stylist on famous films like Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, Marshall and more. She’s also teamed up with her brother on his hit movies, including Sleepless, Horrible Bosses and The Soloist.

Jamie and Deidra share a tight relationship, so it’s no surprise he asked her to live with him and DeOndra in California. “Moving my family in with me is nothing but nonstop laughter and kickin’ it,” Jamie once said in an interview, according to People. “And a little work.”
