Inside Barbara Walters' Semi-Retired Life at 88 Years Old

Now that Barbara Walters is 88 years old, many fans are curious where the TV star is now. Sadly, reports have been surfacing that she is not in good health today.

As previously reported, Barbara is allegedly forgetful and isolated in her Manhattan home. "[She] has been living her life within the confines of her [NYC] apartment, showing significant signs of age, and receiving almost no visitors," an insider recently told TMZ. Another source claims she "has become increasingly forgetful and confused" and won't leave her apartment because she's afraid she will fall and hurt herself.

However, shortly after this news, her rep confirmed to Fox News, "I see Barbara every 2-3 weeks and she’s fine. I’m actually seeing her next week for tea. No truth to this." However, back in August 2016, she was reportedly hospitalized after experiencing "heart complications," which came after open heart surgery in 2010 and a hospitalization after a scary fall in 2013. We're just thrilled that Barbara is feeling better today...

Even though she's been out of the spotlight a lot in the past year or two (she's made a few public appearances in 2016), throughout her career, Barbara has appeared on Today (1962-1976), ABC Evening News (1976-1978), and 20/20 (1979-2004) before announcing her "retirement" in 2014. She also created the popular talk show The View and still serves as an executive producer of the series. She came out of retirement several times in 2014 and 2015 to appear on 20/20 and ABC News.

It was previously revealed that she isn't too happy with The View right now. “She feels [ABC execs have] ruined the franchise that she and Bill Geddie built. Instead of focusing on smart, educated women with strong talent, they cast uninformed child actors on the show. The legacy has been compromised because of poor casting and bad leadership under ABC News," a source revealed. Awkward!
