As family, friends and the world continue to mourn the loss of actor Luke Perry, REELZ has produced a documentary on the late actor. Luke Perry In His Own Words will remember his life in his own voice, using one of the last interviews he ever gave. It’ll also feature conversations with some of his closest friends and members of his Beverly Hills, 90210 family.
The documentary explores his career through his own reflections on a life of influence, legacy and personal tragedy. It will start from the beginning of the actor’s life, going back to his hometown of Fredricktown, Ohio. It’ll highlight the rise of his famous role, Dylan McKay, and the massive fan base he drew from it as well as his career “comeback,” with his last role as Fred Andrews in Riverdale.
The special will reveal how he kept his personal private, cared more about his family than Hollywood, his dedication to his children and family and provide more details about who he was — on and off screen. Luke’s closest friends and colleagues will also be featured throughout the special television event. There will also be exclusive interviews from Randy Spelling, who starred with Luke in his dad Aaron Spelling‘s 90210, a former show runner and two former writers.
There will be interviews with two of the nation’s leading doctors — Dr. Oz and Dr. Drew, who will weigh in on the actor’s shocking death. Luke, was 52 when he passed away on March 4 after suffering a stroke.
Luke Perry In His Own Words airs Sunday, March 17 at 9PM EST/8 PST.
