Fashion designer Victoria Beckham recently took to Instagram to share a precious new home video of her six-year-old daughter, Harper Beckham reading — and, after viewing the cute clip, Beckham fans can’t get over Harper’s adorably posh accent! Sitting at the kitchen island of their family home in London, Harper reads in the video, “Hi, I’m Harper. I’m six, almost seven, and I love books, and my family, too, which is Cruz, Romeo, Brooklyn, mommy, and daddy.”
Victoria’s followers were quick to comment on the sweet video, with many expressing their delight over Harper’s “refined” and “articulate” reading. “OMG, so precious and so well spoken!” one person wrote, while another joked, “I only want kids if they sound this posh.” Another added, “She’s got a lovely sound to her voice, she’d make a brilliant [voice over actor].” A fourth person noted, “I love her tone, good job Mrs. Beckham.”
This isn’t the first time that Victoria has shared images and videos of her only daughter on social media. In fact, she recently came under fire after revealing the youngster had celebrated her sixth birthday at Buckingham Palace. Both Victoria and her husband, David Beckham, recorded the special moment on Instagram, with a handful of photos showing Harper surrounded by a bunch of friends and a real-life princess — Queen Elizabeth‘s granddaughter, Princess Eugenie of York.
And it wasn’t long before fans (and haters) began to question how the famous family snagged the exclusive invitation, with many postulating the palace may have been hired as a party venue. “Is this a new commercial venture by the royal family or do all little princesses now get an invite?” one commenter wrote. Another penned, “If you have enough money you can get anything!”

David was quick to address the backlash, revealing that the family had been invited to the iconic location for a special tea party. “Just to be clear this wasn’t the palace opening the gates for Harper’s birthday party,” he wrote on Instagram. “This was a tea party where us and other guests were invited so it was a beautiful thing to do with my mum, Harper, plus a few school friends… We were honored to be able to be there… Beautiful tea party.”
But while recently speaking to the Daily Mail, royal expert Robert Jobson said he had never heard of such an invitation being extended to non-royal family members before. “It seems odd to me that if you have the money or connections they the palace — a building funded by the British taxpayer — can be used in this way for a selected few,” he said. “The palace is undergoing a huge renovation in the coming years at a cost of multi-millions to the British taxpayer. If this is a new policy to make money it should be clear and open to everyone.”
“If it is just for the rich and famous, it is simply not right. The palace is used by the Queen and members of the royal family to host receptions to promote the National interest, for diplomacy or say to thanks our sporting heroes, such as our great Olympians,” Jobson continued. Whichever way you want to look at it, one thing’s for certain — Harper had a great birthday, and that’s all that matters.
