I’d like to buy a vow. As longtime Wheel of Fortune hostess Vanna White told Closer recently at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, “When I first moved to Hollywood in 1980, I walked down Hollywood Boulevard and I said to myself, ‘I want one of those one day!'” So nothing can top the day she got the 2,309th star on the fabled Hollywood Walk of Fame.

What made it more special was that she was surrounded by Wheel pals Pat Sajak and producer Merv Griffin along with her family. “Everyone flew out for the event,” said Vanna. “I just had a nice time.”

Vanna has become so much of an icon from Wheel of Fortune that it’s hard to talk about the game show without mentioning her name.

Interestingly enough, throughout her 35-year career on the entertaining game show, Vanna has never repeated an outfit twice, which means she’s worn close to 7,000 gowns! “My favorite gowns are the comfortable ones,” she previously told People before adding how much her style has changed. “I’ve started wearing a lot more cocktail dresses and I like that too because I don’t have to worry about the hem or tripping over it in my 5-inch heels.” Although Vanna worries about tripping on national TV, she has never missed a step yet.

Vanna doesn’t regret hosting the hit game show for so long at all because Wheel of Fortune has helped a lot of contestants out of a few tough situations. In another interview with People, she explained how much the show’s prizes have greatly impacted the contestant’s lives.

“People pay off their student loans, they buy their first homes, they go on honeymoons, they buy cars that they’ve never had. So it changes a lot of people’s lives,” she revealed. “One guy did win a brand new car, and he turned to Pat [Sajak] and he said ‘I don’t have to take the bus anymore.'” How lucky is Vanna to be a part of something so special?
