Hmm… are Vanna White and Betty White actually related? There’s only a handful of celebrities who share the same last name, so naturally, fans are curious to find out if the two stars are from the same family. In fact, one person even took to Answers.com to ask, “Is Betty White Vanna White’s mother?” As much as we’d love to see these two at the same table on Thanksgiving, they actually don’t share the same lineage. Here’s how we know!

For starters, when you do a little research about Vanna, you’ll learn that White isn’t her birth name. She was actually born Vanna Marie Rosich to Joan Marie and Miguel Angel Rosich. But, her parents divorced when she was a baby and her mom remarried Herbert Stackley White Jr. who she gets her name from. Betty, on the other hand, was born Betty Marion White and her parents were Christine Tess and Horace Logan White.

The women aren’t related biologically but they do have a lot in common. They both chose to pursue showbiz over other career options. Betty was a model before deciding to be an actress and Vanna was a pageant queen before beginning a career in TV. Both women seem extremely happy with where their careers took them.

“Today I am happy just the way things are. The biggest surprise to my fans is probably how simple I live in real life,” Vanna told Closer Weekly. “I’m a real down-to-earth girl. I usually spend my days without makeup, wearing tennis shoes. I love the outdoors. I love waking up early when it’s quiet, going out on the balcony to hear the birds sing.”

Meanwhile, Betty is living her best life at the age of 95: “I’m so blessed with good health and faculties and I’ve got memories and all that. You can’t really expect that at 95.” She joked, “You think you’ll fade off into the sunset. Well, the sun sets every night, but I just won’t go away.” We love these two!
