Hours ahead of the Blue Bloods finale, star Vanessa Ray shared an emotional message for fans on social media. The actress, who has played Eddie-Janko Reagan since 2013, admitted she did “cry a little” while filming the finale.

“Hi everyone I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all of our amazing Blue Bloods fans,” she said in a video shared on the official Blue Bloods Instagram account on Thursday, December 13. “Thank you so much for sticking with us for 14 seasons. And we have loved playing these roles. We have loved telling you these stories. Thanks for sticking with us. I hope you enjoy the finale, it’s … good. It’s really good. I think you’re going to love it and cry a little. I did.”

A second video was posted featuring Will Hochman, who has played Joe Hill since 2020.

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for the support, for watching the show, for your kind words, for the messages online, for letting us tell this story all of these years,” he told fans in the clip. “It has been the best and a great honor. I really hope you enjoy the finale. Thank you. The last five seasons that I’ve been there have really been joyous. Thanks so much. Long live the Reagan family.”

In the comments section, fans wrote sweet responses praising the cast for all of their incredible work for 14 seasons of the show.

“My family loves your family….we have watched you from day 1 and now the end has come and it’s sad,” one person wrote. “Every week seeing all of you has been amazing. We wish all of you well in you future endeavors. My family will always admire the Reagan family. Growing up the way I did ….watching Reagan’s week after week I wished I had your family.”

“What a mistake for CBS to end this Beautiful Show!” another fan said. “We are going to feel the loss of The Reagan Family like losing a loved friend. Reruns here we come! Thank you for such an Intelligent and Heartwarming show!”

“I am so sad and still holding out hope there will be another season,” another comment said. “I have watched from beginning to end and it is one of the best shows on television! Thank you for giving us a great 14 seasons.”

Before the finale, Vanessa, 43, also shared an alternate ending that she wrote for her character.

Blue Bloods: Boca. Eddie and Jamie have had enough of the NYC winters and scratchy uniforms,” she wrote in a story published by Entertainment Weekly on Thursday. “So they relocate to Boca Raton, Fla. (with the family’s blessing, of course, it’s a three-hour easy flight home!), where Eddie gets promoted to detective and moonlights performing her one-woman show ‘You Have the Tight to Remain Fabulous: A Cop Cabaret.’”
