‘Wolfie’s Mom!’ See Valerie Bertinelli and Son Wolfgang’s Cutest Photos Through the Years

A special bond! Valerie Bertinelli adores her only son, Wolfgang Van Halen, so it’s no surprise she’s always sharing photos of him on her social media. The Valerie’s Home Cooking star can’t help but gush over her beloved child as she watches him follow in her famous Hollywood footsteps.

Valerie shares Wolfgang, whom the doting mom also calls “Wolfie,” with her late ex-husband, Eddie Van Halen. The former couple welcomed Wolfie in March 1991 and were together for over 26 years before calling it quits in 2007. The guitarist died on October 6, 2020, after suffering a stroke while battling cancer.

Now that Wolfie is all grown up, Valerie couldn’t be more proud as he paves a career in the music industry. The young talent fulfilled his aspirations to be a musician and singer when he became the lead bassist of Van Halen in 2007. He was also in the rock band Tremonti.

Although Wolfie has traveled the world with his dad’s iconic music group, Valerie and her kiddo share quite a close relationship. In fact, the One Day at a Time actress says the two talk very often.

“[I’ll] call him or just say hi … or just to say nothing, just to hear his voice,” the loving mama — who separated from her second husband, Tom Vitale, in November 2021— shared with Good Housekeeping in May 2020. “And of course, we FaceTime now more than ever, which I absolutely love.”

Valerie is so grateful for her strong bond with Wolfie, but she’s “finding the fine line of staying out of his business and still staying connected” as he continues to get older.

“When he was little, it was just like, I would hate to put him down — my whole world was him. And I loved it that way. And that’s the way it should have been,” she gushed. “But now, he’s got his own life. So I try to stay out, but I can’t help but lightly ask, ‘Sooo, when’s the album coming out?’ Just a few questions so he won’t get too annoyed.”

Because the Hot in Cleveland actress has confidence in Wolfie’s decisions, she doesn’t feel the need to pry. “I try not to dig too much and trust that he’s got a good head on his shoulders,” she sweetly shared. “I’m lucky that he does.”
