Nearly one year after a six-vehicle car crash left him with debilitating injuries, Tracy Morgan is gearing up to return to television in a very big way.

The 46-year-old actor — who suffered a broken leg, nose and ribs in addition to a traumatic brain injury in the June 2014 accident — will appear on Today on Monday, June 1 to discuss his recovery with Matt Lauer, 57.

The crash — which killed Tracy’s friend James McNair and seriously injured two others — occurred when a Walmart truck slammed into a limo van carrying the 30 Rock star and his friends on the New Jersey Turnpike. Following the incident, it was revealed the driver of the Walmart truck, Kevin Roper, had been awake for more than 24 hours before the accident and working under “unreasonable” conditions.

The news of the comedian’s return to the spotlight — this will be his first live interview since the crash — comes just one day after Tracy reached an “amicable” legal settlement with Walmart on Wednesday, May 28.

“Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families. I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably,” Tracy said in a statement.

While the specific terms of the case settlement will not be released to the public, the actor’s attorney noted the retail company ultimately took “full responsibility” for the accident.
