Joanna Gaines opened up about her rose cottage renovation in the fall 2024 issue of Magnolia Journal, a space that she describes as her “haven.”

“We designed and built a larger cottage, complete with a roof inspired by the stunning architecture we saw on our family’s trip to South Korea last year,” she wrote, along with sharing stunning photos of the new decor.

Chip and Joanna purchased their Waco farmhouse in 2012. Since then, fans have seen so many gorgeous photos of their stunning garden on Instagram and have watched the plants bloom each year. But the magic doesn’t stop there, as this potting shed has everything a gardener could ever dream of.

A Nice Touch

One of the coolest features of the rose cottage is a herbarium. “Our family began pressing our flowers from the farm in some of those old books and started a new leather-bound book of our own,” she revealed. “Now, with the new rose cottage, we have space to expand into a larger library of pressed treasures made to last.”
