With Super Bowl LII almost upon us, one would think Tom Brady's name would be in the news because he's the starting quarterback for one of the teams participating in the big game. However, the New England Patriots star is making headlines for another reason: he kissed his 10-year-old son on the lips — and the Internet doesn't know what to think.

In his new Facebook docu-series Tom vs. Time, Tom is seen getting a massage when his oldest son John (who's called Jack) walks into the room to ask his dad if he can look at his fantasy football team. When Tom asks Jack what he gets in return, Jack walks over to give his dad a kiss on the lips. But Tom wasn't happy with the kiss, saying, “That was like a peck." So Jack returns to give him a significantly longer kiss. Many instantly questioned whether this was appropriate or not.

“On one hand, it’s nice that Tom Brady and his son can show each other affection in a healthy, personal way,” one person tweeted. “On the other hand, that’s a loooong time for [a 10-year-old] to be kissing his dad on the mouth, I don’t even make eye contact with my parents for that long.”

Others stuck up for him and applauded him for being affectionate with his children. "The Tom Brady kissing his kid being a thing on the Internet is depressing. The guy seems like a great dad and is affectionate with his kids. That’s a great thing," another person wrote in a tweet.

Tom shares Jack with his ex Bridget Moynahan. He has two other children — eight-year-old Benjamin and five-year-old Vivian — who he raises with his wife of almost nine years, Gisele Bündchen. He recently made headlines for abruptly shutting down an interview after the host Alex Reimer called his daughter “an annoying little pissant." He's clearly a pretty protective father!

The NFL star will appear in his record-setting eighth Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 4. He has already taken home five Super Bowl rings and was also named Super Bowl MVP during four of those games. He'll compete against the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN, defending his title as reigning Super Bowl champ. We're sure wife Gisele and his kids will be in attendance cheering him on — and if the Pats win it all, we wonder if they'll be any more controversial celebratory kissing!
