CBS has been rolling out its plans for the 2025-2026 broadcast season, which includes saying goodbye to The Neighborhood with it’s eighth and final season. But before then, fans can indulge in the upcoming season 7 finale of the show, which will air rather soon.

The network announced in the press release that the season 7 finale will be titled “Welcome to Pomp and Circumstance.”

“Tina and Gemma plan a joint graduation party for Malcolm and Grover, on part one of the hour-long seventh season finale of the CBS Original series THE NEIGHBORHOOD, Monday, May 5 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs),” the description of the episode said.

The penultimate season has been full of hilarious bits and unforgettable moments for the cast, which includes Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, Tichina Arnold, Sheaun McKinney, Marcel Spears and Skye Townsend.

News of the show’s renewal for its eighth and final season was announced on March 10.

“The brilliant cast and creative team at THE NEIGHBORHOOD led by the incomparable Cedric the Entertainer have brought levity, laughter and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement. “THE NEIGHBORHOOD is a strong ratings performer for CBS and one of the top comedies on TV. We believe the show’s loyal fans deserve a proper farewell season full of the trademark humor and heartfelt moments that are synonymous with the series.”

“Most of my 20s were on #2BrokeGirls, almost allof my 30s were on #TheNeighborhood and I’ll usher in my 40s as we end our story. @katdenningsss and I never got a goodbye or an end to our #2BrokeGirls story, and I’m just so grateful to @cbstv for a chance to say goodbye to GEMMA the right way,” she captioned her March 10 Instagram post. “These last 7 years with my @theneighborhood family has been some of the most memorable of my life. The Neighborhood’s official Instagram page also shared a post announcing the show’s eighth and final season on March 10. “Swipe for some big news— #TheNeighborhood has been renewed for an 8th and final season!” the caption said.

Many shocked fans took to the comments section to voice their surprise over CBS’ decision to end the show.

One person wrote, “8th season yes! Final season NO! Why do the awesome shows always get cut?”

“Awwww final??? I’m not ready but I am .. I love this show so much,” another said.

“Awesome. My favorite show and cast. But why final season ??” another asked.
