Nothing is ever gone forever… especially in the world of TV reboots! The latest show to be given a second chance is The Jetsons as ABC just announced they're in the process of making a live-action show based on the classic cartoon. Entertainment Weekly revealed that the new series will be an updated multi-camera sitcom set 100 years in the future and will look at the futuristic family through a modern filter.

The network has already issued a pilot order for the show which means it'll likely become a full-fledged series in the future. Gary Janetti will write as well as serve as an executive producer alongside Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, and co-executive producer Jackie Levine. And in case you need a little refresher, here's the catchy Jetsons theme song that's now bound to be in your head forever (you're welcome!).

Talk about a blast from the past! The show originally aired from September 1962 to March 1963 and later aired in syndication with occasional new episodes from 1985 to 1987 as part of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera. It was created as Hanna-Barbera's Space Age counterpart to The Flintstones.

Unlike the world of The Flintstones, The Jetsons lived with fancy robotic contraptions, aliens, holograms, and whimsical inventions. While we're sure mega fans of the show will be excited about the remake, some people aren't completely convinced a reboot is the best idea. See some of the best fan reactions below!

Since the news was just released, fans will have to wait awhile until the official cast of the live-action Jetsons is announced. We have high hopes for this revival — let's hope it doesn't disappoint!
