Looks like The Conners will be inviting us back into their home again! ABC has officially renewed the Roseanne spinoff for a second season. Though it never quite reached the heights of its predecessor, The Conners‘ first season has been a solid success for the network.

“We are proud to be continuing the story of the iconic Conners family,” ABC president Karey Burke said in a statement, per Deadline. “This team is fearless in their willingness to tackle contemporary issues with humor and heart, and I have no doubt they will continue to outdo themselves.”

The main cast — including John Goodman (Dan Conner), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie Harris), Sara Gilbert (Darlene Conner) and Lecy Goranson (Becky Conner) — are all set to return. Michael Fishman, who returned as D.J. Conner, will also appear in some episodes.

This news comes on the heels of Roseanne Barr speaking out again on the cancellation of Roseanne. This time, the comedian is blaming Sara, 44, for ABC pulling the plug on the iconic sitcom — not her now-deleted racist tweet. Roseanne — which originally ran from 1988 to 1997 — had just returned to much fanfare until the series’ namesake compared a former Barack Obama advisor to an “ape.”

Sara reacted on social media soon after, writing: “Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.”

The network quickly pulled the plug on the series. ABC’s then-president, Channing Dungey, issued a statement calling Roseanne’s tweet “abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values.”

“She destroyed the show and my life with that tweet,” Roseanne, 66, told the Washington Post just this week. “She will never get enough until she consumes my liver with a fine Chianti.”

Sara responded in the same story, saying: “While I’m extremely disappointed and heartbroken over the dissolution of the original show, she will always be family, and I will always love Roseanne.”

While Roseanne clearly has a beef with Sara, it seems the same cannot be said vice versa.
