What can we say? The British royal family had so many great moments from the past decade that it’s hard to count them all. Not only did former Suits actress Duchess Meghan marry Queen Elizabeth‘s grandson Prince Harry, but she also welcomed her first child into the world.
As for Duchess Kate, she tied the knot with the man of her dreams, Prince William, and gave birth to three royal babies. Queen Elizabeth can’t be any more proud of her family if she tried! As we get ready to head into 2020, we here at Closer Weekly thought it would be fun to look back at the biggest royal moments of the 2010s.

Queen Elizabeth Turns 90
Queen Elizabeth turning 90 years old in 2016 was a huge milestone for the royal family. Not only is Elizabeth beloved by U.K. citizens, but she’s become an icon to millions around the world. Despite being British royalty — did you know the queen’s net worth is a whopping $530 million? — Elizabeth doesn’t necessarily come off as a posh princess. Sources even told Closer “one day she could be at Buckingham Palace eating off fine china,” while she could “be [in Scotland] eating from a plastic Tupperware container” the next. Let’s face it, Queen Elizabeth is one cool lady! — Kelly Braun, staff writer

The Many Faces of Prince George
The royal family was changed forever on July 22, 2013. Why, you ask? Because that’s the day Prince George, the royal kiddo who makes the most hilarious faces, was born. Sure, we love Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as much as the next royal fan, but it seems as though the cheeky 6-year-old gives us a new LOL-worthy moment without fail at each and every event he attends — and I love him for it! — Carson Blackwelder, senior editor

Duchess Meghan’s Speaks Up for Herself
Duchess Meghan sure has come a long way since her engagement was announced to Prince Harry in 2017. After putting up with a lot of backlash from the public — from the way she wore her hair to perfecting the “Duchess Slant” — she finally took a stand for herself in an interview with ITV News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby in which she said the way many were treating her wasn’t OK.
“Especially as a woman it’s really — it’s a lot,” Meg said. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom and trying to be a newlywed. … And also thank you for asking, because not many people will have asked if I’m OK. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
By doing this interview, Meghan showed the world just how strong the Duchess of Sussex really is, making it clear she hurts just like everyone else and online bullying is not OK. If you ask me, we can all learn a lot from her. — Joyann Jeffrey, staff writer

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s Wedding
As an American, Prince Harry’s wedding to Duchess Meghan was the first time I felt that the royal family was important to me. I enjoyed seeing what they’re up to, but now I actually feel included — especially knowing her mom lives in my neck of the woods. I really feel like they became a global family once Meghan joined it, and she’s handled herself with such grace! We need more uniting forces in this world, and it was so cool to see one of those moments during Harry and Meghan’s wedding. — Emy LaCroix, deputy editor

Baby Archie’s Birth
Baby Archie being born was a historic moment for all things royal! Seeing Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan expand their brood has been such a fun, inspiring journey for their fans. It’s also so amazing to see baby Archie grow up right before our eyes, especially with his little smile that can light up a whole room! Archie is one adorable baby and I can’t wait to continue watching him follow in his parents’ royal footsteps! — Tara Vaughan, social media producer
