Congratulations are in order for Sylvester Stallone!
The 69-year-old actor took home his first ever Golden Globe award for his outstanding performance in Creed on Sunday, Jan. 10 — and we couldn’t be happier for the actor!
“I want to thank my imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend that I’ve ever had,” he said during his acceptance speech for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture.
Sylvester and his family at the Golden Globes on Jan. 10.
Sylvester — who attended the A-list event with his wife and three stunning daughters, Sophia, 19, Sistine, 17, and Scarlet, 13 — has not attended the Golden Globes in almost four decades!
In 1977, Sylvester was nominated for the Best Motion Picture Actor in a Drama Golden Globe for his performance in Rocky, a film that was also recognized with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Screenplay that same year.
The movie additionally received Oscar nominations for Best Writing and Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen, while Sylvester was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role that year.
