It’s true that Rocky Balboa got hit in the face a few times in the Rocky movies, so it’s understandable why fans are curious if Sylvester Stallone has gotten plastic surgery over the years. And since the 71-year-old appeared on the hit NBC show This Is Us during the last episode, fans are even more curious.

To learn more about the A-lister’s procedures, Closer Weekly chatted with experts exclusively, who all agree that Sly likely had work done throughout his career. “Sylvester Stallone looks like he’s definitely had some work done. His strong jawline and tight neck look like they’ve been maintained with a well-performed lower facelift,” Dr. Adam Hamawy stated. “He’s also had an upper and lower eyelid lift and a browlift that really gives everything away. Those brows look really over-pulled. While high, arched brows can look great on a woman, brows that are too high can look awkward on men.”

And Dr. Andrew Miller agrees. “It looks like he may have had his lids done as well as a browlift because of the difference in his lid crease and brow height,” he said. “He may have also had at least a mini facelift to keep his jawline smooth.”

Dr. Vartan Mardirossian adds that he’s likely gotten an upper and lower blepharoplasty since there is decisively less skin of the upper and the lower eyelid and a possible necklift since the skin and the muscle of the upper neck are tight. “All procedures were well-performed which has left him with a natural look,” he said. “The blepharoplasty and necklift seem to be the ‘trademark’ of my middle-aged male patients.”

However, in a 1992 interview with People, Sly admitted to going under the knife for work on only the left side of his face since he was born with a crooked mouth (he prefers to be photographed on his right side). “People see this scar and think I’ve had a facelift. What they don’t notice is that I don’t have a scar over here by my right ear. What do they think? That I could only afford to have half of it done?” As far as plastic surgery in general, the actor isn’t against it by any means. “Sure. Why not do it?” he asserted. “You have body work done on your car.”
