Susan Sarandon's New York City apartment was broken into and burglarized late Saturday night (Aug. 2), NYPD confirms. Among the items stolen were a laptop, camera and some of the actress' jewelry.

Although the 67-year-old is reportedly out of town, her son Miles Robbins (with ex Tim Robbins) returned home around 3:30 a.m. to find the place in disarray. He told officials he stepped out for the evening between 8 and 9 p.m.

Authorities believe the intruder used a ladder to hop from the roof next door onto the top of the Oscar winner's nine-story building. He or she then entered the lower-level apartment through an open terrace door, sources reveal.

The Thelma & Louise star is believed to have had around $100,000 in jewelry stored at the West 15th Street home.
