Hollywood fame isn't just about movie premieres, exclusive parties, and free swag bags — for many celebs, stardom offers an opportunity to support charitable organizations doing good work around the world. One such nonprofit that many stars back is PETA, the largest animal rights organization in the world.
Over the years, actors including Alyssa Milano, George Lopez, Mayim Bialik, Charlize Theron, John Stamos, and more have all lent their voices to PETA to support their anti-fur, pet adoption, and vegetarianism campaigns, just to name a few! PETA's latest star is The X-Files actress Gillian Anderson, who recently posed nude for the organization's work combating the fashion industry's use of real animal fur.
"I found it liberating to use my body to make an important statement. People tend to look away from anti-fur ads showing mangled animals, but they're drawn to PETA's 'naked' campaign, and I'm proud to be a part of it," Gillian said in a statement about her experience supporting PETA.
