Actor Michael Jace, best known for playing police officer Julien Lowe on the 2002 drama The Shield, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife, April Jace.

Police arrived at the couple’s south Los Angeles home Monday night around 8:30 p.m. to find April dead from a gunshot wound. Her husband was immediately taken into custody where he was charged with homicide early Tuesday.

According to TMZ, not only were the couple’s two children home during the shooting, but they apparently witnessed their mother’s death. Both are reported to be under the age of 10.
