Joe Manganiello Says He’s Still “Coming to Grips” With Being Married to Sofia Vergara
They’ve only been wed two years, but Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello couldn’t be more in love. But even though they’ve been together for all that time, Joe has revealed he’s still not fully adjusted to being a husband — but for good reason.
The 41-year-old adorably gushed about his wife during a new interview. “The biggest adjustment in marriage? Coming to grips with the idea that someone who is not related to you could possibly love you that much. She was it for me,” he confessed to Cigar Aficionado. “People say things like, ‘Marriage and relationships are work.’ But it’s not. Life is hard. Having somebody to help you deal with it is the greatest thing that ever happened.” Aww!
And now pals are coming to Sofia and Joe for relationship advice. “They have a few secrets to a happy marriage,” an insider recently told In Touch. “Joe lets Sofia take the wheel because she’s more dominant. And he gives her what she wants before she even asks.”
The Modern Family star, 45, does her part to keep things strong with the Magic Mike actor, 41. “She knows she has a big personality, and he’s more reserved,” said the insider. “Joe doesn’t need attention, but she always makes him feel special.”
The couple has always been perfect. In a previous interview, Joe revealed he wrote her a book for their one-year anniversary. “I wrote her a book as a gift for our first anniversary. It was about how we met, as well as our courting, and was about 40 pages long,” he told Cosmopolitan at the time. “I love my wife a lot.” Casual…
Sofia has even opened up about having kids with Joe in the past. “My husband is [four years] younger than me and he wants kids so we’re trying to figure out what we’re going to do,” she once shared with The Edit. “The idea of doing it all again doesn’t scare me but, hey, it’s not like it’s going to happen naturally, is it?”
“It’s funny to see some of my girlfriends raising young kids,” she continued. “In the US, women postpone motherhood, but in Latin America most of my friends have kids my son’s age.” Sofia previously welcomed 25-year-old Manolo with her ex-husband, Joe Gonzalez, whom she was married to from 1991 until 1993.
Sofia and Joe’s relationship appears stronger than ever today. The handsome actor previously shared conquering his alcoholism led him to Sofia. “I became the man that I dreamed of being, and the result was I met the woman of my dreams,” he said at the time.
