Lookin’ good, lady! Sherri Shepherd is celebrating her health one year after making a monumental life change. The beloved TV personality — who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2007 — took to Instagram to share some good news with her fans.

“The doctor excitedly said ‘OHMYGOD what did you do? You’re not even prediabetic,'” the 52-year-old beauty captioned a video she shared of herself to Instagram on Tuesday, May 21. After more than a decade of living with diabetes, Sherri decided to make a drastic change. In March 2018, she started the sugar-free keto diet — with which she has seen great success.

The View alum explained that her A1C test levels have improved significantly to 5.4 percent since starting her diet — compared to what they were in 2016 and 2017. According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease, A1C tests signify diabetes if the results are 6.5 percent or higher, while test results ranging from 5.7 percent to 6.4 percent are considered prediabetic. Normal A1C ranges around 5.7 percent and below.

Sherri didn’t hold back when it came to gushing about her incredibly inspiring lifestyle change. “I feel so good I could scream. Just want to encourage you that this can be done,” she added. “You have people who love you and need you to be here. Live for you! Live for them!”

The Game Show Network host — who lost both her mother and her aunt to diabetic complications — dished her source of inspiration. “You can take this journey to health. Who are you living for? Who needs you here?” she said. “When my son … asked ‘Mommy, if you die who’s going to be my bodyguard?’ I knew I had to make lifestyle changes or I would die.”

Fans of the comedian could hardly wait before flooding her comment section with sweet messages. “This gave me sooo much love and life! Sooooooooo happy for you and am constantly inspired by you and your story queen,” one user gushed. “Congratulations! You continue to be an amazing inspiration to so many!” said another.

Late last year, Sherri gave her fans an update on her inspiring weight-loss journey. “Getting it in! Over 260 days #sugarfree … can’t begin to describe how #amazing I feel. Energy, clarity of thought and mind. Focused… patient [with] my son,” the Dancing With the Stars alum shared in December 2018. “I’ve done this slowly and steadily and since March. I’ve come down over 25 [pounds]. This is not a fad — it’s my life that is at stake. It feels so good to feel #good.”

We are so happy for you, Sherri!
