For the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars, professional dancer and choreographer Sharna Burgess is sharing her inside scoop with Closer readers — everything from show highlights and behind the scenes secrets to her experience dancing with Army veteran and double amputee, Noah Galloway! Read her week nine blog post below.

Last night’s final was absolutely incredible! This is one of the most talented groups of competitors that the show has ever had and I am honored to share the stage with Noah, Riker Lynch and Rumer Willis.

I loved getting to dance the Argentine Tango again because it shows how much Noah has grown throughout the season. He has come so far and I could not be more proud of him. The courage it takes for him to get on the dance floor and share a piece of himself every week is immeasurable.

Now let’s talk about our freestyle dance! The concept behind it — all of the people who helped make Noah whole again after his accident — allowed for such creative freedom with my choreography. Noah stepped up to the plate, exuded bravery and performed like a champion.

I could not have pictured a more perfect moment and dance for my first freestyle on Dancing with the Stars, and to have shared it with Noah was a dream come true. DWTS is not just a TV show, but a journey, and this experience with Noah has been a gift — he will always be my hero.

To my Team Shway fans: Thank you for your continuous support and belief in Noah and me! I love and adore each and every one of you — your love and support have kept us going and, for that, we cannot thank you enough. Noah and I would love to take home the Mirror Ball trophy, but have won something much bigger regardless.

Xo,
Sharna
