It’s no surprise that Dancing With The Stars is compared to an intense boot camp, but professional dancer Sharna Burgess and her partner, Bobby Bones, just gave us a better idea as to what the grueling competition is really like. “It’s like we’re in a marriage — we’re in a three-month marriage,” Sharna dished to PeopleTV.

In fact, the dancing duo even admitted that while most rehearsals “are a lot of fun and we dance all the way through it,” it’s not always smooth sailing. “We have some rehearsals where we want to kill each other on the show.” Sounds like marriage to a tee!

We hope the pair’s recent rehearsals have been the former, considering they’re about to kick it into high gear in preparation for the show’s finale next week. And though he’s survived eight eliminations and a variety of dances, Bobby is still surprised that he made it this far. “I’m not the best dancer,” The Bobby Bones Show radio personality admitted. “It’s all [Sharna], I just hold on tight.”

Taking a few hours off from DWTS, Bobby, 38, and Sharna, 33, made an appearance at the 2018 CMAs in Nashville on Nov. 14, where the pair presented an award. “I was just saying to Bobby that I’m really trying to keep it cool right now, but I’m kind of geeking out,” the Australian native gushed. “Garth Brooks just told me I look really pretty. I want to see Dan + Shay. I’m a fan of so many artists that are here tonight, and I’m just really happy to be here.”

It looks like the ABC hit show is opening all sorts of doors for the on-air host. Though his dancing career will be ending soon, whether the couple takes home the Mirror Ball trophy or not, DWTS will not be the last we see of Bobby. The Arkansas native will be joining the next season of American Idol in 2019 as an in-house mentor according to Billboard, and his wisdom isn’t the only thing he’s bringing to the table.

“Listen, I do a little bit of everything so they want me to teach them things, what do I know?” he joked. “I’m exhausted, right? We’ve been dancing for 10 weeks, every day for eight hours a day. I’m delirious. Where am I? Where are we?” Looks like Bobby is going to be bringing laughs to American Idol, too!

Even though the two-time author follows Sharna’s lead on DWTS, she knows he will succeed far after his time on the show concludes. “I don’t want to change any of Bobby’s quirks,” Sharna gushed in hopes to boost Bobby’s confidence. “I think all of them make him awesome right down to when he dances with his mouth wide open and with his eyes looking up to the sky.”

Since they took a night off from rehearsals to attend the CMAs, Bobby and Sharna are going to have put it into overtime before the finale approaches next week. “Team Beauty And The Geek” is just one of four couples left competing for the title of Season 27 Mirror Ball Champions. If you’re interested in watching the DWTS season finale, make sure to tune in to ABC on Nov. 19 at 8:00 p.m. EST!
