Meghan Markle’s First Wedding Dress Is Nothing Like Her Royal Wedding Gown — Take A Look!
Planning a wedding — let alone a royal wedding — is probably pretty exhausting. Not only did Meghan Markle walk down the aisle to Prince Harry during an immaculate ceremony this past May, but the Duchess of Sussex also tied the knot previously before Harry was ever on her radar. And while one of the most exciting parts of a wedding is the dress, let’s not forget that Meghan’s first wedding dress was nothing like her royal wedding gown.
In September 2011, Meghan, who was 30 at the time, married American actor and producer Trevor Engelson. While her second wedding was pretty unconventional, it seems like her first wasn’t too far off. According to Metro UK, Meg and her ex-beau wed in a beachfront ceremony at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios. Though the event was not televised and anticipated for months by millions of people, apparently there were over 100 guests, who mostly consisted of close friends and family.
Despite having a beautiful wedding ceremony on the beach, the former couple divorced less than two years later in August 2013. While there was no initial reason as to why the couple’s relationship went south, it was later reported by The Sun that the couple split due to Meg’s filming commitments in Toronto for Suits and Trevor having to stay living in LA for work. Makes sense!
Thankfully for the now 37-year-old (and all of us), Meg met her Prince Charming just three years later and tied the knot in May 2018.
Take a look at the two wedding dresses below!
