Joe Cocker once crooned, "I get by with a little help from my friends," and for Sean Penn the song rang true over the weekend as he and his buddies raised $6 million to continue efforts to rebuild Haiti.

Those in attendance at his J/P HRO charity's fourth annual Help Haiti Home benefit included his girlfriend, Charlize Theron, former president Bill Clinton, Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon, new parents Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

The night featured a live auction, and performances by Coldplay's Chris Martin, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Haiti is still attempting to recover from the destructive earthquake that ravished the country five years ago. Penn told E! Online, "At a certain point when there's a disaster or a conflict in an area, there are grant monies for organizations like ours but they dry up pretty quickly when you move into a development phase and so this particular night is essential to keep the work that we do going."
