Scott Baio Reunites With ‘Happy Days’ Cast to Remember Erin Moran Following His Crude Comments About Her Death

The former Happy Days star is backtracking on the previous comments he made about his late co-star Erin. After her cause of death was revealed — which stated that the actress died from cancer, he posted a lengthy statement on his official Facebook page clarifying his previous speculation that drug abuse had something to do with her death.

“Monday, April 24 at 6 a.m. Pacific time, I did a live radio interview. I was asked ONLY about Erin’s troubled past due to drug & alcohol abuse,” the 56-year-old explained. “I was still upset and said I felt that living that kind of a lifestyle will catch up with you and nothing good would come of it. THIS WAS BEFORE THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS ANNOUNCED STATING STAGE 4 CANCER.”

Now, nearly two weeks after her passing, Scott has reunited with the Happy Days cast to remember their late co-star following his remarks. “Celebrating the life of #ErinMoran #HappyDaysFamily,” he captioned the snapshot of himself with Don Most, Marion Ross, Anson Williams, and Ron Howard.

This comes as a surprise since after the Joanie Loves Chachi actor’s crude comments, Erin’s brother, Tony Moran, took to social media to threaten Scott over what he said about his sister.

“A special shout out to Scott Baio. I already went on Twitter about you. I hope it finds you. You and my lil sis had a very very brief fling. She dumped you. 2 reasons. 1. She told me that you were more like a lil girl and not a man. 2. She told me that you were tiny. Ya know. Barely a man in the man region. True story! Scott, I’d advise you to get on your knees and pray you never run into me,” Tony wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 25.

In Scott’s interview on The Bernie and Sid Show shortly after Erin’s death, he had opened up about how he’s dealing with his co-star’s passing — and he had some harsh words about her alleged cause of death.

“I’m OK, a little shocked but not completely shocked that this happened. My thing is, I feel bad because her whole life, she was troubled, could never find what made her happy and content,” Scott said. “For me, you do drugs or drink, you’re gonna die. I’m sorry if that’s cold, but God gave you a brain, gave you the will to live and thrive and you gotta take care of yourself.”

He claimed that he has been a victim of the “fake news” cycle because the media outlets allegedly twisted his words around to make it seem like he was continuing to spread the rumor that Erin died of a drug overdose.

“Please stop assuming the [worst] in me. I’m a compassionate person. I’m very heartbroken over her passing, especially since it was cancer,” he continued.

Scott and Erin’s on-screen love story played out on the popular 1980s sitcom Happy Days and they even starred alongside each other on the short-lived spinoff series Joanie Loves Chachi. But as Scott moved on in his acting career, Erin wasn’t so successful. She ended up leaving Los Angeles to live in Harrison County, Indiana with her husband, Steven Fleischmann.

Erin passed away at her home on Saturday, April 22 at 56 years old. In a statement obtained exclusively by Closer, local officials ruled that her cause of death was due to complications of stage 4 cancer.

“Standard toxicology tests were performed and the results are pending, however, no illegal narcotics were found at the residence,” the statement revealed.
