TV star Savannah Guthrie has officially been added to the list of brave celebs who have tried the Keto diet. But, unfortunately, Savannah, 46, hasn’t found the program — which reduces a person’s daily carb intake and replaces it with fats so the body can burn fat at a higher rate — to be very effective for her so far.

“It’s not even doing anything,” she recently revealed to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. “I haven’t lost anything! I haven’t lost a thing. But you know, I’ve eaten a lot of bacon and I’ve liked it.”

Savannah’s friend and nutritionist Joy Bauer also appeared on WWHL with Savannah and her Today co-anchor, Hoda Kotb, and admitted that she never wanted the mom-of-two to start the Keto diet in the first place.

“Like Savannah knows, I am dreaming of her picking up the phone to call me to say, ‘I’m done! Help me transition,'” Joy shared. “[The Keto diet is] very, very difficult, but as a jumpstart it’s fine. I would say maybe [do it for] a week, like one to two weeks.”

Joy went on to explain how dangerous the diet can be since it cuts out a lot of protein and carbs from your meals. “It’s very very high fat, it’s super high fat, and it’s ridiculously low in protein and carbs,” Joy said. “So it’s very difficult to stick with, and really, it makes me sad to think that a diet would omit so many fruits and vegetables.”

Savannah didn’t reveal if she’ll try another diet instead but WWHL host Andy jokingly told her that she should probably listen to her nutrionist friend. “Joy, isn’t it funny sometimes when super smart news people do really dumb things,” he said and Savannah cracked up laughing.
