Going to work when you have babies at home can be difficult, but Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb have managed to find ways to balance their careers with motherhood. The two Today show anchors actually credit their job's early morning schedule with making it all work. “The beauty of getting up in the middle of the night [to go to work] is, on most days, you’re home in the middle of the afternoon,” Savannah told People in a new interview. “We both get to spend so much time with our babies, and I know I can speak for both of us: That’s where our hearts are.”

Savannah shares two young children with husband Michael Feldman — daughter Vale, 3, and son Charley, 1. Hoda, on the other hand, recently adopted her daughter, Haley Joy, back in February 2017. “I’ve always worked hard, but I know what matters most,” she said of her job today.

Hoda, who was officially given the Today co-anchor role in the wake of Matt Lauer's firing, also couldn't help but gush about the sweet joys of motherhood. “I think Savannah and I are both late bloomers in the mom department,” the 53-year-old said. “And I think it makes us appreciate it so much more. I think there’s something about waiting for something and having our children and realizing what our priorities are, and you’re right — we have our loves in order. I feel the same way Savannah does, like I race home. And you can’t believe that someone is so excited that you just opened the door. I’m like, ‘Oh my God!’"

“So much of life is unexpected, and it just comes and you take it and you go to the next, you move on," Hoda, who shares Haley with longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman, continued. "Haley was an unexpected blessing. I wanted her, but who knew [if it was ever going to happen]. That changed my life."
