After more than two decades of wedded bliss, Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick, have no problem keeping the love alive in their marriage. During a new interview with People, Sarah Jessica, 53, recalled a time when she randomly found herself alone with Matthew, 56, and explained how that moment helped them reignite the flame in their relationship.

“We found ourselves alone. We went away but we didn’t plan it. It just happened because our son was away on a trip and our daughters were otherwise engaged and we ended up alone. It was so amazing. It was really fun,” SJP — who shares son James Wilkie Broderick, 16, and nine-year-old twins Marion Loretta Broderick and Tabitha Broderick with Matthew — shared.

With three kids and Sarah Jessica now working on her new movie, Here and Now, she’s busier than ever — but when date night comes around, the happy pair always knows where they want to go. “We love going to the theater, we love eating, we love being with our friends! It’s those times that are few and far between because [of our] work and kids’ schedules, but we’re happy,” she gushed. How sweet!

The Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actor previously revealed to Closer Weekly why he gets along so well with his wife. “We both have a similar sense of humor,” he said. It’s good to be real friends.”

“I’ve been fortunate. Relationships are hard. I always felt that I wanted to invest more. I love him, and I think he’s brilliant,” Sarah Jessica also said during a previous podcast interview. “I’m enormously proud of the person he is. I think the longer you can last, the more invested you just are and so their triumphs are yours, their disappointments are yours the more you feel those things and experience them, the more it’s hard to imagine not being part of their life.”
