Actress and style icon Sarah Jessica Parker found herself in a bit of hot water earlier this week when she was accused of failing to return $150,000 of jewelry. But, thankfully, her lawyer has since denied the claim as “just plain false.”

On Wednesday, Sept. 12, Page Six reported that court documents allegedly showed the 53-year-old star was “accused of borrowing $149,501.96 worth of accessories from Kat Florence Design in 2016 and failing to return them.” The company reportedly claimed that SJP previously wore the jewelry during a photoshoot and asked if she could “personally borrow several pieces of the jewelry to wear for a few months and then return all the pieces.”

While the company allegedly agreed to a two-month loan period, the brand also claimed that Sarah Jessica has still not returned the jewels, which included earrings worth $40,706.72 and a ring worth $27,115. According to Page Six, Kat Florence Design is now seeking $150,000 in restitution and said, “We believe that as Ms. Parker has kept the jewelry since 2016 that she should pay us for it,” in their court docs.

However, the Sex and the City star‘s attorney, Ira Schreck, later told Us Weekly that the brand’s claims are simply not true. She continued, “SJP was under contract to Kat Florence and was asked to keep the jewelry so that she could wear it on red carpets and other events when appropriate.”

“Sarah Jessica Parker is as honest and trustworthy a person as anyone I have ever met. She has never and would never hold onto anything belonging to someone else. In fact, she has been asking ever since Kat Florence wrongfully stopped paying her to have the pieces returned, but Kat Florence didn’t seem terribly interested in getting them back,” Schreck added.
